Housekeeping Manager

Location: Housekeeping Department
Supervisor: Operations Manager

Summary:
Under the general direction of the Operations Manager. The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and developing of the overall operation of the housekeeping department, along with assuring the highest degree of quality guest care is maintained at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with the Operations Manager on daily operations.
  • Responsible for daily delegation and tasks for floor supervisors, coordinators, housekeepers, and general cleaners, and laundry staff in morning meetings.
  • Provide prompt and professional communication via phone and radio to other departments.
  • Keep track of daily occupancy.
  • Purchase, re-order and maintain housekeeping supplies and inventory.
  • Recruit, schedule and train (or assist in training) all new housekeeping staff members.
  • Process of damage slips to properly charge for guest damages.
  • Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and conduct.
  • Knowledge of safety standards within Housekeeping department.
  • Ensures the proper maintenance of all equipment; makes arrangements for repair and/or replacement of used and damaged equipment.
  • Ensure dirty laundries are timelessly and appropriately cleaned.
  • Inspects rooms as needed.
  • Motivate team members and resolve any issues that occur on the job.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
 

Education and Experience:

  • 5 years of relevant experience in housekeeping.
  • Advanced knowledge of Housekeeping process and procedures.
  • The ability to anticipate customer needs, change goals and direction quickly, and multitask.
  • High level of administrative and clerical experience required.
  • The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Knowledge and ability to use different types of office equipment and computer software to meet the performance requirements of the job.
  • Microsoft office, excel, outlook, and computer skills.
